RIGHT TO PLAY is an international humanitarian organization that uses sport and play as a tool for the development of children and youth in the most disadvantaged areas of the world. RIGHT TO PLAY is committed to improving the lives of these children and to strengthening their communities by translating the best practices of sport and play into opportunities to promote development, health and peace.

Working in 20 countries world-wide, RIGHT TO PLAY is supported by an international team of Olympic, Paralympic and professional athletes who generously donate their time to give back through sport.

Through the SKIING FOR CHANGE campaign, Bow Corridor athletes of all ages can now bring the joy of sport and play to children around the world and make an impact on more than just the ski trails! By collecting pledges in support of their ‘on-snow’ successes, athletes will allow children on the other side of the world to share in their successes while raising awareness of the power of sport as a force for positive social and individual change.

Throughout the winter 09-10 season, skiers can collect pledges based on either their BCRR Challenge goal (500 points) by participating in the Bow Cup Events (BCRR races and local loppets) or a Personal Ski Distance goal  (total distance you think you can ski throughout the season).  You set your goal, and then ski and race lots to strive for your goal.

At the end of the season, check your final Bow Cup points or tally you Distance Skied (you keep track of distance) and you can notify your sponsors and collect their pledges. Participation is the key! The more races we do or the more we ski as a whole group – the more funds we will raise to help improve the lives of children around the world!

This year the three athletes who raise the MOST pledges for RIGHT TO PLAY will receive a  memorabilia prize!!

W
e will have a presentation session with the RIGHT TO PLAY Athlete Ambassador (Olympic athlete) at the March 20 Windup event.
